Hi :)
I've lurked here for a little while and have decided to make a sketchbook . I am working to be an illustrator, but have a passion for animation too.
Thank you!

Sketchbook Am I talking to the artist? Or scam artist? In regards to Ron Adrian (comic book pro) July,2012

Now, this is annoying. So we are starting a comic book company and are having some trouble verifying a couple of the artists.

SCAMMERS are everywhere. I know that three of them have tried to fool us the past week.

Now we are trying to figure out how to verify one particular artist who is known, a top talent, but has never had his own website.

How can we be sure of who he is? What steps can we take? He contacted us after seeing our postings here and elsewhere.

The one artist in question is Ron Adrian, who is a killer talent, but I have no way of knowing if the kind gentleman emailing me is the real deal.

He is asking for half up front, half upon delivery. Normally artists have invoiced me every 4 to 5 pages.

His work...

Sketchbook Who is the artist? July,2012

This has been driving me nuts all day long. For hours now I've been searching the net for this painting of 2 vampire-women sucking the blood from the wrists of a third woman half sitting, half lying down turning paler and paler.

The fact that I don't remember the artists name is not helping either.

Please tell me this rings a bell for anyone!

Sketchbook Expedition WIP July,2012

Hey all! I'm still struggling with pushing that "finishness" look, so I've spent my time painting b&w studies of various rocks, things and other artists' paintings. Some of the stuff is on my blog, but most of it is flying around my computer.

So here's another one. Inspired by Feng Zhu's painting. Would be great to hear your comments, mainly because environments is not one of my strongest points.

Also kinnda struggling with putting in a subject but I'll be working on it now. Probably gonna be some sort of ruins or a giant, derelict space ship.

Will be working on this all this week (just like the other one with snow walking tanks)

A.

EDIT: Apologies. It seems that I'm experiencing some scaling difficulties.

EDIT: @Moderator: Can this thread please be deleted? My Photoshop has mounted a guerrilla campaign against me, and refusing to save anything in the original HDV 1080p resolution. Everything comes out square.

Sketchbook WIP Tips/direction for how to draw in details? July,2012

Hey guys, sorry for posting two threads, I just forgot to add this pic to the other. Anyways, I've been practicing speed paintings a lot, and feel somewhat comfortable but I want to tackle the challenge of actually busting out detail.

Problem is I don't know how to do that! Any advice for how? Do I just zoom in closer and make it work from that distance? Any advice, good or bad, I'm really dead set on improving.

Thanks guys!
