Hi :)
I've lurked here for a little while and have decided to make a sketchbook . I am working to be an illustrator, but have a passion for animation too.
Thank you!

Sketchbook Am I talking to the artist? Or scam artist? In regards to Ron Adrian (comic book pro) July,2012
Now, this is annoying. So we are starting a comic book company and are having some trouble verifying a couple of the artists.
SCAMMERS are everywhere. I know that three of them have tried to fool us the past week.
Now we are trying to figure out how to verify one particular artist who is known, a top talent, but has never had his own website.
How can we be sure of who he is? What steps can we take? He contacted us after seeing our postings here and elsewhere.
The one artist in question is Ron Adrian, who is a killer talent, but I have no way of knowing if the kind gentleman emailing me is the real deal.
He is asking for half up front, half upon delivery. Normally artists have invoiced me every 4 to 5 pages.
His work...

Sketchbook Who is the artist? July,2012
This has been driving me nuts all day long. For hours now I've been searching the net for this painting of 2 vampire-women sucking the blood from the wrists of a third woman half sitting, half lying down turning paler and paler.
The fact that I don't remember the artists name is not helping either.
Please tell me this rings a bell for anyone!

Sketchbook Expedition WIP July,2012
Hey all! I'm still struggling with pushing that "finishness" look, so I've spent my time painting b&w studies of various rocks, things and other artists' paintings. Some of the stuff is on my blog, but most of it is flying around my computer.
So here's another one. Inspired by Feng Zhu's painting. Would be great to hear your comments, mainly because environments is not one of my strongest points.
Also kinnda struggling with putting in a subject but I'll be working on it now. Probably gonna be some sort of ruins or a giant, derelict space ship.
Will be working on this all this week (just like the other one with snow walking tanks)
A.
EDIT: Apologies. It seems that I'm experiencing some scaling difficulties.
EDIT: @Moderator: Can this thread please be deleted? My Photoshop has mounted a guerrilla campaign against me, and refusing to save anything in the original HDV 1080p resolution. Everything comes out square.

Sketchbook WIP Tips/direction for how to draw in details? July,2012
Hey guys, sorry for posting two threads, I just forgot to add this pic to the other. Anyways, I've been practicing speed paintings a lot, and feel somewhat comfortable but I want to tackle the challenge of actually busting out detail.
Problem is I don't know how to do that! Any advice for how? Do I just zoom in closer and make it work from that distance? Any advice, good or bad, I'm really dead set on improving.
Thanks guys!

Sketchbook Crit of sketch? July,2012
Would love some critique on a preliminary sketch for a painting I'm going to do. Composition, lighting, if I should put some people in the foreground, anything to help?
It's a cave, and there will be houses inside the rock so you'll see little glimmers of lights there. A big column of light in the middle area, and bridges leading into it.
It's kind of just scribbles at the moment, but I find that if anything is greatly wrong it is easiest to fix it at this point. I hope the pictures make sense :D
One of it as colour, one just shades of grey to help show perspective.

Sketchbook Striving to be Better - lia's SB July,2012
I had a sketchbook on here a few years back, but stopped updating due to being super busy at school and not owning a scanner. But I'm thinking that maybe having CA back in my life will help me get to where I want to be.
So, a little bit about me: I'm 20 years old and just finished my sophomore year at art school. I'm majoring in illustration and minoring in fine arts.
I want to work as a freelance fantasy/comic book artist. Mostly I just want to have my artwork appear on the covers of things. :) But I'm not quite sure of what the heck I'm doing right now. I feel like I'm at the point where I need to know exactly what I want to do in terms of style/medium/etc in order to put together a good professional portfolio, but I'm just not sure of anything yet. And then I look at the people who are currently getting the jobs I want in the future and I just think that I'm not good enough yet. And I need to get good enough. Like, yesterday. So hopefully I can keep this SB updated regularly and learn lots of stuff and just be a better artist.
Anyway here's some stuff for critiquing. Mostly finals from my classes with a random recent study thrown in. Roughly in order from most recent to oldest.
Critique away.

Sketchbook Cartoon Faun Illustration July,2012
Here's a faun character I drew and then painted in Photoshop. I thought it would look cool to give him antlers instead of horns (sort of a fawn-faun, I suppose). I think this style works well for a story book or fantasy art piece.
Love to hear what you think and as always, I am open to comments & critiques. Thank you!

Sketchbook JK portfolio July,2012
Hello,
My name is Justinas Krasuckas. I'm from Lithuania, Europe. I have just finished a bachelor degree in Art Theory and History. Mostly I am selftaught working in traditional and digital mediums. Currently I am doing portrait commissions and freelance web design. I am much more into fine arts and illustration, rather than concept art. I want to improve my imagination and construction/perspective skills.
All feedback/comments are welcomed and appreciated!

Sketchbook Artka's Concept Art July,2012
Well, it is not really a concept yet since I don't quite like the result this far.
The problem is that, besides I am really bad at landscapes (struggling to become better) I hadn't any reference for a building in that type of scenario and tried to take other references but in the result I don't feel the "church" fitting correctly into the picture, I tried several combinations of adjustments. Any advices?

Sketchbook Breaking Plateau July,2012
Finally have sometime on my hands to post. I've been telling myself to do this. but days becomes weeks and weeks becomes month and so on and son. It's not much but here it is. I feel very embarrassed posting this, since I have not progressed much. But thats what I get for not drawing often, and letting life get in the way. I plan to be studying from the Michael Hampton - Figure Drawing: Design and Invention. My goal is maybe have my work be good enough to be able to make a living off of it. But it's seems so far stretched. Since I realized I'm very slow in grasping all of this and my time is very limited.
Also, the two pictures below. First one is from imagination. Second one I referenced the pose from a Uniqlo magazine. Third one, is a painting I did for Illustration class with acrylic. : /

Sketchbook "Love Factory" - Facebook Game Visual Development July,2012
Last years summer I embarked on a very interesting Facebook game project. It was supposed to be a game were you manage a production line for condoms manufacturing, testing, packaging and selling. You can find it HERE.
I was the only artist on the team and so everything visual was up to me to develop. Everything from character design, environment design to UI design was developed in just a little under 9 weeks. Of course some of the things I had to do I had to learn on the go. Some others were a bit more easy because of my prior experience with gaming companies like Namco Bandai, Gameloft and other companies like American Greetings Interactive (where most of my character design and animation experience came from).
Here is some character design and the Game Splash for this project.

Hey there :)
I'm not new here, just haven't posted anything ever, if I recall correctly.
Summer is here, I'm done with college, so I thought I'd put some sketches here, hoping I'll improve a lot in the process.
(sorry for all, if any, spelling or gramatical errors, I haven't written anything in english in a while)
So, let's get this started :P
I'm putting some older sketches first ;)
Cheers, D.
