I think this is my first time posting in this section, can't remember. Anyhow, I started off inspired by reiters' armour and their use of guns. So I worked up some thumbnails and tried to paint something...I haven't struggled this much in a long time. Soooooo much repainting and recropping and selecting and moving!
It is working better now that I scrapped the colours (they seemed really dead and unnatural no matter what I did for some reason). I'm not sure if this is salvageable, but I'd at least like some input to this as it's really been bothering me.
I guess my goal is to try and fix the composition, especially how the background and foreground shapes interact with each other, as right now it feels very clumsy (like between the reiter's arm and the horse). I'm also not entirely sure how to handle the background, since I originally intended for a number of guys in battle to be there, but it looks too chaotic without a flatter value like it is now. I've encountered some difficulty with posing the guy being shot without his silhouette infringing too much on the horse or getting overly confusing--right now he is standing there with his arms at his sides haha. Redlines/paintovers are very welcome.

Sketchbook Nachteules Sketchbook May,2012
Hey guys,
It took me some time but I could finally get myself to start my very own sketchbook.
At the moment my first priority is to improve my knowledge of human anatomy, as well as my skills in coloring (im pretty lost, when it comes to that)
Lately I couldn't draw as often as I wanted to, thats why I also uploaded some older stuff from a year ago, because that was the last time I used a Pencil.
Just that you know, where I'm starting from.
I'm very grateful for any advices on how to improve.

Sketchbook Photoshop brush problem. with pictures. May,2012
So iv had this problem before and i have no idea how or why it happens.
any help would be really appreciated.
so picture one is a close up of an image im making, and has kind of blocky fade ins, and if i paint over these transitions with a soft round, it will have a hard edge and just look terrible.
any uncounted this or know how to solve it?

Sketchbook Confused about advanced graphite drawings May,2012
Advanced graphite drawings. What technique does it really boil down to, is it essentially all about hatching/crosshatching? And are smooth transitions like these possible with just pencil? No brushes/stomps needed?
Oh how I wish there could be some serious workshops on my location..

Sketchbook BFA for Game artist?? May,2012
Hello
Im working as a Adobe Flash animator currently [just because i know how to use Flash]
but what i really want to be is a Concept artist in a gaming industry [specializing in character design. which is why i need to learn to draw a human body properly.]
so i was wondering if im making the right choice by choosing to go for BFA
[also its "distance education" so we have to go only 2 days a week. but i figured its better than not doing anything]
so the 2 questions are:
is BFA the right thing to choose?
its 2 days a week so is it worth it?
i would really appreciate if sumone can help me on this!!

Sketchbook From the imagination May,2012
I've not drawn figures or faffed with Photoshop for a while now properly (over a year or two) due to art in college taking up my time, ironically. So this is me just trying to get back into the swing of things. I did this off the top of my head just messing about but I've actually grown to quite like it so I was wondering what can be done to help it, because something seems way off.
Thanks a lot :D!

Sketchbook GLS Portfolio Review - Gavin Li May,2012
Hey guys :) I'm currently freelancing as an artist with my free time on an indie title but I'd like to be in-house in any games company that's passionate about their fields. Ideally I'd love to work on a fantasy game but above all, any games developer or possibly even an art studio is currently my broadest aim.
Most of my work is under NDA not to mention needing to dedicate more time to doing personal work, so apologies for the lack of pieces!

Sketchbook GLS Portfolio Review - Ryan McShane May,2012
Hey, I'm a 16 year old Full Time Illustration Student at The Art Department. I'm currently in my second semester. I'm working on finishing up some work so I can send it out to clients around Australia, such as theatre companies and book publishers. Also I'm hoping to get work from bands, to do posters and the like.
---
These first 3 are currently in progress, i'm working on them to send out in my portfolio as soon as possible.
