Sketchbook Studying shadow? May,2012

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum area but I'll try anyway.


Hello guys , I'm rather new in the forum and made a sketchbook recently and been updating it vigorously ever since. My first proper art lesson I've had last September and been drawing properly with a wacom pad since early February. I sort of despised drawing with paper and pencil before that but now I just can't put my sketchbook down.

I'm not really that good yet but I'm 120% dedicated to it.


How should I go on about practicing shadow? I have some Bridgemann books but he just briefly touches the subject which makes me feel kind of sad.
